  • Q: What is Zebratrade?
A: Zebratrade Australia provides a unique web based platform designed to promote low cost, efficent and user friendly trade between low cost manufacturing countries (initially China) and Australia. The core business for Zebratrade involves introducing Australian based buyers to overseas based suppliers or their local agents using this web platform. The format is simple and entails the use of a "shopping basket" technique. Both full container load or less than container load (LCL) lots will be available depending on the product type and the supplier's policy. By using Zebratrade the Australian based buyer does not need to get involved in such matters as container load consolidation in China, logistics, letters of credit, customs, etc. Fees to Zebratrade are very reasonable and reflect the highly innovative and low cost structure of Zebratrade. If you need to price and subsequently buy products from overseas the services offered by Zebratrade are uniquely user friendly and are designed to build long term buyer and vendor relationships. Only quality suppliers will be allowed to offer their products through the Zebratrade portal. For buyers, highly qualified Advisers are available to help introduce you to Zebratrade and the range of products and services available. For established importers and large volume buyers who do not require broker support, other options are available through Zebratrade including access to Advisers operating on behalf of the suppliers. Zebratrade accredited Advisers are paid by the supplier to facilitate market development in Australia including helping buyers with such matters as packaging, safety and other regulatory issues, QC at source, etc. Zebratrade is designed to make life simple for Australian based buyers looking to import from China and for China based suppliers who wish to cost effectively enter the Australian market. Importing from other countries will also be possible in the near future.

Q: What is the aim of Zebratrade?
A: Zebratrade's aim is to promote user friendly trade between Australia and China initially and, eventually, with other countries. Zebratrade is targeting buyers in Australia who are finding that importing from China through traditional sources has become less and less viable as margins decrease due to the value of the Australian dollar and market competition.

Q: Why should I use Zebratrade if I am an Australian based buyer?
A: Because Zebratrade allows the buyer to receive a Free into Store price for the product displayed on the Zebratrade web site. No need to worry about exchange rates, duty, freight , etc. It is like buying from an Australian based company. You place an order and you get a delivery date and you know the exact price. It is no more complex than using Amazon.

Q: I am an importer or product broker / agent. How can Zebratrade help me?
A: Zebratrade has been designed to enable Australian based companies to import products from China and for Chinese companies to cost effectively export to Australia. Zebratrade is a "one stop shop" in that the buyer both sources and buys his product through Zebratrade unlike AliBaba.com and Made-In China.com which are effectively advertising displays akin to Yellow pages. However both those sites have many registered China based suppliers. If you are a potential buyer or broker and your preferred product is not yet on Zebratrade but is in another web site such as AliBaba, please do not hesitate to contact Zebratrade who will be able to approach the company concerned. Our aim is to make life simple for the buyer and the supplier. Make Zebratrade your ONLY "middleman" and keep costs to a minimum. Zebratrade is not an importer. It does not hold stock and it does not provide trade finance. It is a facillitator of trade between accredited suppliers and buyers.Through our network of industry specialists Zebratrade can ensure that innovation becomes a key part of the trade process. In other words Zebratrade can help it's buyers become "price makers" not "price takers".

Q: Why should I use Zebratrade if I am a China based supplier?
A: As an approved supplier on Zebratrade you are able to promote your company into the Australian market place without the cost of offices, stock and people in Australia. Zebratrade's unique virtual office allows the supplier to display their company details and products on the Zebratrade web site. Zebratrade also provides actual display facillities so that supplier stock is available for presentation to potential buyers. Products must be suitable for legal sale in Australia. Sales are promoted by sourcing buyers to the Zebratrade web site using Zebratrade accredited consultants and brokers who are paid only by sales commission. Initial costs to the supplier are limited to setting up their web pages in the Zebratrade site and any regulatory costs involved in ensuring the products to be exported to Australia are legally saleable in Australia. Zebratrade will control the movement of the products from receipt at our consolidation centres in China. Zebratrade will promote both full container load and less than container load quantities to Australian based buyers.

Q: How can I become a representative for a Chinese manufacturer on Zebratrade?
A: Zebratrade Australia is looking for Manufacturer Advisers who are qualified to work on behalf of accredited China based companies and/or their local agents. A Zebratrade Manufacturer Adviser will be allocated to one or more China based companies who will be their local sales representative and will also assist them with product/market development, buyer support particularly in regard to regulatory and packaging issues, etc. Manufacturer Advisers are paid a commission by their China based companies based on sales levels. They are not required to purchase stock. Manufacturer Advisers could easily be recently retrenched or retired executives who wish to use their industry knowlege and contacts to run their own business on a part time or full time basis. They may operate solely as a representative of a particular factory or, subject to certain conditions, they may set up their own company to develop their own brand. Other potential Manufacturer could include retail operators who know their industry well enough to help develop "brand name" products for their own shops or even to help set up buying groups to take advantage of volume pricing.

A: Zebratrade Australia is looking for Industry Adviers who are experts in particular industries and are qualified to work with a number of Manufacturer Advisers (who represent individual China based companies). A typical Zebratrade Industry Adviser will help recruit and will work with a number of Manufacturer Advisers in a particular industry providing guidance and contacts. They will also assist them with market research, product/market development, buyer support particularly in regard to regulatory and packaging issues, etc. Industry Advisers are paid a commission by Zebratrade based on sales levels from their associated Manufacturer Advisers.
